This text explains why a certain meaning was chosen or marked as doubtful or excluded. This is the place where we include and comment on research of other scholars. Our process of identification is generally based on all the relevant literature and research available for each Old English plant-name. We compare these findings to the references given in texts and glosses and based on this we decide on the final identification(s).
