    Stryker notes on GLITILIA: "Lindsay suggests GLUTILIA, comparing French glouteron 'burdock'"; but cf. Gamilscheg, s.v. "glouteron 'Klette' 15.Jh., ist in volksetymologischer Anlehnung an glout, glouton umgestaltet aus älterem gleteron; dieses ist Weiterbildung von afrz. gleton dass., aus fränkisch klęddo zu ahdt. cletto." More problably GLITILIA is derived from GLIS, GLITIS 'burdock'; cf., for example, AhdGl 3,241,19: GLIS.TIS LAPPA.I. clête.
