    The prefix ge- seems to have collective function (cf. →wrīd), therfore I assume a long vowel for gewrīd (against BT, ClH, HEU).

    Rusche (1996,642) suggests: "It seems far more preferable to take both instances of gewrid (here and at F361) as the same word, derived from gewridan, 'to grow, thrive, flourish' and to define it as 'something which has grown'. This definition fits at F361 and in the context here." Cf. →gewrīd (? 2).
