    On the L lemma cf. →rind, sūþerne. Schlutter (1913,49) regards the Corpus gloss for an erroneous CINIMIN 'cinnamon, Zimt', while Wynn (1961,866), more convincingly, sees it as a wrong gloss: "Most probably OE cymin was introduced because of its general similarity in form to Lat. CINNAMOMUM, particularly if we assume that the glossator was thinking of the shortened form CINNAMUM." Petitt (2001,CLXX,988) cites Stracke who states that if L CINNAMOMUM is not translated as sūþerne rind it denoted Cuminum cyminum. RESINA 'resin, Harz' does not match 'cinnamom, Zimt'.
