    On the form cf. Waldorf (1953, c.v. cor~): "Schlutter (Anqlia 31,56) connects the first part of this word with cēosan and gives the meaning 'choice germination, vegetation' as in 'choice fruit'. He also suggests emending to cornciþ 'FRUMENTI GERMINATIO', which seems a most acceptable emendation." Also cf. Meritt (1954,10f).
