Birdlime was made from mistle-berries, cf. →mistel. CH, BT and Quinn use this form wihtout hesitation, although OE lām means 'loam, soil' - the OE word for the meaning given would be OE līm 'lime.' It is ovious that the gloss is corrupt (cf. the lemma VINCUS) and it should therefore be emended either to mistellīm (cf. for example ClQu 131,4: VISCO fugellime) or to →mistel-tān.
