Hunger (1935,139): HIBISCUM DECOCTA CUM MALUA ERRATICA & FOENO GRAECO MEDETUR. Cockayne translates 'meal', but it is possible that the original had mealwan, the dsg. of mealwe 'mallow, Malve', which is also suggested by the L text. But we have to note that the OE text differs from the L original in another aspect (mid linsæde) and that the respective chapter describes the plant Althaea officinalis L., OE →mersc-mealwe.
