    There are several attempts at identification:

    • Pheifer (1974,n.247): "? 'leek-troughs', i.e. 'vessels with foliated ornamentation".
    • BTS, s.v.: "A cluster of berries carved for the ornamenting of a ship."
    • Meritt (1968,119): "In a context [Plinius, Hist. Nat. 19,175] where VOCAT CORYMBOSQUE QUOS CONDUNT is used along with the mention of storing a herb (lēac) in jugs (trogas), an understandable gloss to CORYMBOS would be leactrogas, 'herb jugs'". Wynn (1961,1040ff) provides a thorough discussion on leactrog, also cf. Rusche, (1996, 596).
