The L lemma is a form of Gk χαμαίπιτυς (lit. 'ground spruce. Erdfichte'), Ajuga chamaepitys (L.) Schreb., ground-pine, Gelber Günsel; cf. →hænep; but the denoting ēa 'water-, Wasser- does not go with this plant identification. Therefore I suspect that eacrop is erroneous for →eorþ-crop, which occurs two glosses before in Dur 83: CAMELON eorþcrop. The DOE suggests: "perhaps (water) germander, ground pine or hemp".
