    Reed species were never differentiated properly (cf. →cassuc), so a indistinct translation with 'reed, Schilfgras' is most suitable. Different species were suggested as possible identifications: Deschampsia cespitosa (L.) P. Beauv., tufted hairgrass, Rasen-Schmiele (Cockayne 1962,II,375; Pettit 2001,I, glossary); or Carex L., sedge, a species of ~, Segge, eine Art ~ (cf. →cassuc; Pettit 2001,I,glossary).
