BAPIS is not clear. Neither can I explain the interpretament HORTUS "garden, Garten".

The copyist of the Cleopatra Glossary [= ClSt] evidently thought that the whole Corpus gloss was one OE word, since he copies the entry in the form bansegn as part of the item BAPYS, treuteru [...], which is the following gloss in Corpus."
