Banham (1990, 124) states that “it remains uncertain whether peaches, or even their leaves, were known in Anglo-Saxon England.” There are no archeological remains. Based on the occurrences in the LB Hagen (1995, 52), on the other hand, assumes that the fruit was known at least to the compiler of the medical text.
