    Identification based on Cockayne (1961,III339). Lit. 'moor wort, Moorwurz', the name refers to the habitat of the plant. Banham (1990,200), on the other hand, relates mor- to more 'root, Wurzel' and suggests: "This is probably something in the carrot/parsnip group, possibly the carrot, since this is the smaller of the two, in both wild and cultivated forms [...]."
