    Banham (1990, 199-200): “Where the word more occurs without qualification, it seems to mean 'carrot/parsnip' rahter than just root. But it is impossible to tell which individual plant is meant, or if they were being distinguished at all.” On more denoting Daucus carota L. and Pastinaca sativa L. cf. →more (1).
