  • Comment on (A): ? Anthemis rosa L., -, -

The red chamomile is native to Crete and described in Dioscorides III,154 (and in De herbis femininis XIX; Kästner 1896,602) and is one of three species of chamomile generally referred to in old herbals.

  • Comment on (B): ??? Anthemis tinctoria L., dyer's chamomile, Färber-Hundskamille

This identification by Cockayne (1961,II,398) is wrong: the plant has yellow flowers and is used as yellow dye - there is no obvious connection to the color red.
