    All occurrences refer to Aloe L.;[1] the species most likely used is Aloe vera (L.) Burm.; the drug generally was the plant's dried sap (cf. VI corn alwan, and Deegan 1988,2,288). There is no reference to LIGNUM ALOE (Aquilaria agallocha Roxb.; agarwood; Adlerholz), the second aloe of the bible.
