    Recorded in the DOE, s.v. fyrs. This identification is based on the L lemma, also cf. Steinmeyer, Sievers (1999,3,524,32): ARCIOTIDE wachalderber. OE fyrs can denote several thorny plants; it seems there is no distinct OE name for J. communis.
