It should read either 'Take a closed hand full of uma' which would make 7 eac redundant; or it should read 'Take uma and a closed hand full of ...'; was this the case, there is a plant name or another ingredient missing after handfulle. Cockayne's translation (1961,II, 277), "take 'uman', and also a contracted hand full of it" seems altogether wrong.
If the OE lemma is an erroneous hunan it denotes Ballota nigra L. ([LINKTO hune).
