    Cf. WW 558/2: CONSOLIDA MEDIA, I. þundre clouere. Marzell (2000,I,167) records CONSOLIDA MEDIA as old name of A. reptans; Marzell (2000,I,169) compares the OE name to G 'Gewitterblume' (A. reptans) and notes: "Frühlingsblumen (besonders blau blühende) werden häufig mit dem Gewitter (Blitz) in Verbindung gebracht". OE clǣfre does not fit A. reptans.

  • Comment on (B): ? Leucanthemum vulgare (Lam.) DC., oxeye daisy, Magerwiesen-Margerite

    According to Brodin (1950,260) CONSOLIDA MEDIA is Ch. Leucanthemum; also cf. the vernacular names thunder daisy (ModE, cf. BH 1886, s.v.) and G Gewitterblume, which Marzell (2000,I,968) explains: "Vielleicht ist aber der Name daraus zu erklären, daß die Pfl. wie viele Johannisblumen als Schutz gegen Gewitter gilt". OE clǣfre does not fit L. vulgare.
