    No botanical term. Cont. (Ald. 316,1): HIRSUTAS BIDENTUM LANAS ET SETOSA VERVECUM VELLERA. The meaning 'bristly' is a very likely identification for hrīseht (cf. G Ge­strüpp) but it may be possible that the gloss was chosen because of the phonetic similarity to HIRSUTAS (L HIRSUTUS 'bristly, struppig, dicht behaart', which is synonymous with SETOSUS in CGL 6).
