    The lemma is only recorded in the respective glosses. It is recorded here because of the possible meaning 'tinder, Zunder' and because of the L lemma LIGNARIUM. Cf. Pheifer's note 556: "IGN(I)ARIUM = Gr. πυρειον 'a stick rubbed against another until they caught fire' [...] for algiuueorc 'fire-making'(?) cf. weall(ge)weorc 'wall-building'". Brown (1969,II,595) comments: „The OE word attested here should not mean ‚tinder’ but ‚fire steel, etc.’.“ The DOE, s.v. 'āl-ge·weorc' only has our meaning A but provides another: "2. glossing LIGNARIUM ‘place where firewood is kept’, perhaps in error for IGN(I)ARIUM".
