ORNUS = Fraxinus ornus L., flowering ash, Blumen-Esche, which is native to the East Mediterranean (cf. Marzell 2000,II,492). In AntK the gloss is located within tree names, in ClSt three sheep-breeding terms follow immediately, maybe the phonetic resemblance with ēotwu 'ewe, Mutterschaf' is the reason for this. Rusche (1996,670) disagrees and adds that the "entries are in proper order of the class glossary related to the Antwerp Glossary".
